Building lifelong relationships through mentorship, presence, and faith-based community.

Who We Are

Team Thurmond Mentoring is a nonprofit founded by Michael Thurmond — built on the belief that showing up matters. From schools to shelters, we mentor, uplift, and stay connected through every season.

What We Do

  • Youth Mentorship

We mentor students, speak in schools, and build trusted relationships through Boys & Girls Clubs and other youth spaces.

  • Community Outreach

From hot meals at the RYDC to back-to-school drives, scholarships, and prom support — we show up for our community.

Children and teenagers gather around tables with snacks and drinks at an indoor event, with some playing games on monitors and others talking, in a brightly lit room with green and blue walls.
  • The Table – Men’s Program

A private coaching group for men ready to grow in faith, connection, and purpose. Come to the table. Stay in the room.

A large indoor gathering space resembling a rustic restaurant or event hall filled with older adults seated at tables with checkered tablecloths, listening to a speaker or performer near the front. The ceiling features exposed wooden beams, string lights, antler chandeliers, and a large ceiling fan. The walls are decorated with mounted animal heads and other rustic decor.
  • “Michael delivered a heartfelt message at our Big Red Rally that moved us from laughs to tears. As a Gainesville native, he connected deeply with our staff and inspired us to be ‘tag changers’ in the lives of our students. His words kicked off our school year in such a powerful, positive way.”

Jeremy Williams - Superintendent, Gainesville City Schools

  • “Michael Thurmond has a heart for people and a God-given ability to connect with any audience. His passion for Christ is evident, and you can feel God’s love through him. He’s deeply committed to helping boys grow into Godly young men.”

Coach Chuck Graham, West Hall Basketball Head Coach

  • “Michael has a God-given gift for connecting with youth and all people. At our Fields of Faith event, he shared his heart, kept Christ at the center, and moved us to action. He’s relatable, passionate, and speaks with purpose.”

Coach Jason Shavers - Franklin County High School Basketball
